Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced an exciting development for the town of Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh. Neemuch is set to become the starting point for a new Vande Bharat Express, marking a significant addition to the state's rail connectivity. The Neemuch station falls under the Ratlam Division of Western Railway.
While the exact route and details are yet to be finalized, Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Western Railway, conveyed that they will provide more information once the route is approved. This decision holds great promise for Neemuch and the surrounding region, as it will introduce the first Vande Bharat Express to Madhya Pradesh.
The Vande Bharat Express, renowned for its semi-high-speed capabilities and modern amenities, is a flagship project of the Indian Railways. This move signifies the government's commitment to enhancing railway infrastructure across the country. The introduction of such a train in Neemuch is expected to not only improve transportation but also stimulate economic growth and tourism.
Currently, Madhya Pradesh has three semi-high-speed trains in operation: the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Rani Kamlapati Bhopal Vande Bharat, Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat, and Khajuraho-Bhopal-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express. However, the upcoming Vande Bharat Express for Neemuch will be the first of its kind in the state.
The Vande Bharat Express that Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off on April 1, 2023, is already making its mark as the 11th blue and white colored train in the country. Covering a distance of 700 km in just 7 hours and 30 minutes, it operates on all days except Saturdays and makes stops at Agra Cantt., Gwalior Junction, and Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi during its journey from New Delhi to Rani Kamalapati.
Additionally, the Khajuraho-Bhopal-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express, introduced on June 27, 2023, is another semi-high-speed train catering to Madhya Pradesh. It covers a distance of 331 km in four hours and 35 minutes, making stops at Narmadapuram, Itarsi Junction, Pipariya, and Narsinghpur railway stations.
The upcoming introduction of a Vande Bharat Express from Neemuch is a significant development for Madhya Pradesh's railway network, bringing modern and efficient rail travel to the region and further enhancing its connectivity to the rest of the country.
